1. This Is What People Think of You When You Wear Headphones at Work (According to an 800 Person Study) – Inc

Do you wear headphones at work? I did. I never really thought of how others would think of me (I just wanna get work done okay), but apparently here’s the breakdown of this study’s responses:

  • Want to be left alone — 27 percent
  • Focused — 22 percent
  • Busy — 17 percent
  • Love music/music quality — 16 percent
  • Rude/Pretentious — 9 percent

This sentence made me laugh: “Interestingly, the perception of being pretentious tripled when co-workers were wearing in-ear headphones (like AirPods)”.

If you still get interrupted for wearing headphones, or can’t for whatever reason, then click on the article to find other ways to minimise disctractions at work.
